SEMIT 2023 is pleased to inform you that the selected papers will be published in Special Issue by Central European Journal of Operations Research.

Special Issue Title: "Persons and Freight Transportation in the age of Sustainable and Collaborative Logistics"

Technological changes have been dramatic in the last decades. Collaboration and coordination opportunities in transportation have become enormous. A systemic approach to problems and advanced analytical methods are even more vital than in the past. This Special Issue will focus on the recent trends in mobility of people and freight with particular attention to the aspects of sustainability and collaboration among the logistics actors. Original and high-quality papers dealing with theoretical, methodological and applications aspects of persons and freight transportation are most welcome.

Topics to be covered include, but not limited to:

  • Optimization methods for the transportation of persons and goods
  • Collaborative transportation in logistics
  • Shared customers in distribution networks
  • Carrier assignment and profit sharing methods
  • Collaborative vehicle routing and fleet management
  • Sustainable solutions for the transportation of persons and goods
  • Centralized and decentralized transportation planning
  • Real-life applications in sustainable Transportation
  • The role of data science, big data, data mining and knowledge management in transportation
  • Transportation in uncertain environment and risk management
  • Transportation in disaster conditions
  • Real-life applications involving a collaborative context

Scholars participating in the International Conference on Science, Engineering Management and Information Technology 2023 (Ankara, 14-15 September 2023) are invited to submit their unpublished papers to this special issue. Any other researcher interested in the topics of this call can submit his original paper as well.

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor being currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All papers are refereed through the standard peer review process of (journal name). All papers must be submitted online through the Journal editorial manager.

Submitted papers should be presented in the conference and the authors should send the last amended paper before above mentioned date.

This Special Issue is associated with the International Conference on Science, Engineering Management and Information Technology to be held on 14-15 Sept 2022 in Ankara (Turkey) and whose purpose is to bring together worldwide experts to give presentations in the fields of engineering management and information technology and the related applications in the hope of promoting scientific exchange and discussing possibilities of further cooperation, networking and promotion of mobility of senior and young researchers and research students.

The conference is an extraordinary opportunity to encourage experts to respond to the most recent engineering management and IT issues and to enhance university-industry collaboration.
